I generally use the small, for a single strand of size 8, Valdani Perle Cotton and the medium tip two strands of the size 8. The large tip works great for six strands and heavier threads, sock yarns, etc. There is a spring included for the large tip, 2 threaders and a very detailed instruction booklet.
